Training Programs
Housebreaking and Behavioral Issues

This lesson is always the first to any program I offer and is a must for all dogs, particularly puppies or older dogs with behavioral issues. It’s an in-depth look at why dogs do what they do, how dogs communicate and how breed instincts play a role in their personality.

In this lesson you will discover how dogs think and learn, how timing is crucial when conditioning certain behaviors and how to use the most effective corrections. This lesson also teaches effective housebreaking, how to prevent your dog from developing bad behaviors and how to stop unwanted behaviors, such as jumping, chewing, digging and biting.

You will learn how to communicate in a language they understand and teach them to understand your language. I will also show you the negative and positive effects your everyday interactions have on their behavior.

Additionally, I will show you how to save money on proper chew toys and training supplies, and much, much, more.

Obedience Training

From a training perspective there are two very important periods in your dog’s life. The first is at around four months old. The second is around a year old.
Formal obedience training should begin at around four months. At this stage, a dog’s retention is much higher. Like children, their brains are like sponges, they are very eager to learn, are much more impressionable and need early education.
The most effective training, with results that last the longest come in a condensed form with many repetitions during short training sessions over several weeks.
The second important period in your dog’s life is at around a year old. This doesn’t mean that if your dog is between five months and a year they don’t need training; I’m suggesting the ideal timing for your dog.

You should understand that, as puppies become adults, they experience physical and mental changes. They become more independent and get distracted easier and they need to be conditioned to understand how to listen as an adult. Again, the most effective training, with results that last the longest come in a condensed form with many repetitions in a short sessions, over a period of several weeks.
This does not, however mean that an older dog can’t be taught new tricks. Dogs of all ages are capable of learning and I offer many types of obedience programs for dogs of all ages. Each program is catered to your needs and lifestyle and to the age, breed and behavior of your dog.

Programs include everything from basic through advanced obedience, behavioral problem solving (including housebreaking), tricks and movie-type training.
I can teach your dog to bark or growl on command but I choose not offer guard or aggressive training.
